How do i set up my line for North Carolina pier fishing?
I’m going to go to myrtle beach in April. I’m saltwater fishing from piers for the first time. I need to no how to set up my line. Thanks
Well, I investigated it for you, and have found that the fishing is rather slow in the area; esp if your fishing from a pier. You may want to concentrate on any Jetty’s or Inlets VS Piers.
Go to http://www.myrtlebeachherald.com and search their site for fishing reports. They have a weekly fishing report for piers & surrounding waters. (Hit “Community” then “Fishing Trends”)
Good rigs for surf fishing the NC Jetty’s, piers & beaches:
A Carolina Rig using a sinker slide is mandatory for most East Coast fishing. Here’s a link to a good sinker slide

Make sure to use a 20-25″ leader of Flurocarbon for all fishing.
And, most people use a size 2-3OZ pyramid sinker in the Surf.
Around Jetty’s use a Three-Way Dropper Rig or a 12-14FT Cane Pole with an Egg Sinker. (Believe it or not fishing a simple cane pole around Jetty’s for Sheep-head and Drum can be very productive.) A good all-around hook for dead (or live) bait is a 1/0 Circle Hook.
