Woodland Scenics
Are Woodland Scenics dioramas waterproof?
I want to build a diorama of mountains & waterfalls of about 2.5 feet height, 3.5 feet width and 6 inches depth. I want to have real running waters in it from time to time – not just the water looks only.
I’ve looked up Woodland Scenics diorama kits Scene-A-Rama kits SP4111 (Mountain) and SP4113 (Water) for my purpose. I’ll arrange the real water plumbing on my own.
Now:
1. How many of the above kits do I need for building a diorama of the size I mentioned above?
2. Are these products waterproof so that I can have real running water?
3. If these are not waterproof, what do I need to do to make them waterproof?
4. Do you have a different kit/ manufacturer suggestion?

I use alot of Woodland Products on my N-Scale railroad, and other RR’s I work on, Scene-a-Rama seems to be a packaged format of multiple products.
1) I’m not sure of the number of kits… I’m guessing 3 mountain and 1 water.
2) The products are NOT inherently waterproof…
3) I paint the plaster-cloth and cast-rocks with exterior latex paint and it is then water resistant. WHEN you put down some of the “Woodland Scenics Water” down, it will seal that area.
4) I REALLY like the Woodland Scenics products… no other recommendations.
